For ERN Institutes, the minimum age is 16 in which students can apply for a Higher National Certificate or Foundation Course. Students aged 16-17 are considered as a Child students and must have a legal guardian in the UK until the turn 18. The legal guardian can be a relative or family friend.

The general entry requirements for UK Universities is 3 A \'levels (Institute depends on the grades obtained), Foundation Degree from the UK, or in exceptional circumstances where a student has obtained over 75% in his HSSC. BCom or students having a 2 years Bachelors generally qualify for 1st year entry and in some Institutes 2nd year entry.

Students must have obtained 16 years of education before applying for Masters studies in the UK. This can be a combination of a 2 Year Bachelors and 2 Years masters degree, a 3 Year Bachelors and 1 Year Masters degree or a 4 year Bachelors degree. Depending on the CGPA or % of the student they can choose the University. For example, a student wanting to obtain admission into a Top 10 Institute must have a CGPA of 3.4 or 80% marks, for Top 11 - 30 CGPA of 2.8 - 3.3. And if lower, this depends on the students degree and the entry requirements of the specific course at the Institute.
